Colorado Rebates Applied Upfront
Free In-Home Estimate
One System. Heating and Cooling. Same Ductwork.
A ducted heat pump replaces your furnace and your air conditioner at the same time, and runs off the duct system already in your walls. In Denver’s climate it does the job for most of the year on electricity alone.
Furnace Replacement
Your gas furnace is 15–25 years old and the repair quotes are getting silly. A heat pump replaces it, adds air conditioning, and stops the annual combustion inspection conversation.
Ducted, Not Ductless
No wall units, no line sets running down the outside of your house. The air handler sits where your furnace sat and feeds the registers you already have.
Built for Colorado
Cold-climate inverter systems that hold capacity well below freezing, sized with a real Manual J load calculation for 5,280 feet — not a rule of thumb from sea level.
Rebates Off the Invoice
The Federal Tax Credit Is Gone. Colorado’s Money Is Not.
While the federal tax credit expired at the end of 2025, multiple rebate programs are available to reduce your heat pump installation cost.
| Program | Amount | Who qualifies | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Federal 25C credit | $0 — expired | Nobody, for systems installed after 12/31/2025 | — |
| Xcel Energy — cold climate | $750 / heating ton | Xcel electric customers, qualifying ccASHP | We file it for you |
| Xcel Energy — standard air source | $300 / cooling ton | Xcel electric customers | We file it for you |
| HEAR (income-qualified) | Up to $8,000 | Household under 150% of area median income | Point of sale, through us |
| Electrical panel upgrade (HEAR) | Up to $4,000 | Income-qualified, when the panel needs it | Point of sale |
| Power Ahead Colorado | Amounts being set | Denver-region homeowners | Launched Jan 2026 — ask us for current status |
We would rather tell you that now than have you find out at tax time. Ask any contractor bidding your job to show you where that credit comes from in 2026.
Does a Heat Pump Actually Work in a Denver Winter?
Yes — and we will tell you exactly where the limits are, because the sales pitch you have probably heard skips them.
What the equipment does
A modern cold-climate heat pump holds most of its rated heating capacity down to about 5°F and keeps producing usable heat well below zero. Denver’s design temperature is around 1°F. For the overwhelming majority of the heating season, the heat pump alone carries your house.
What happens on the coldest nights
Denver gets a handful of nights a year in the negative teens. Two ways to handle them: electric backup heat built into the air handler, or keep your existing gas furnace as the backup and run a dual-fuel system. Dual-fuel is usually the cheaper answer to operate here, and it is what we recommend for most homes that already have gas.
Where it goes wrong
Almost every heat pump horror story in Colorado traces back to one of three things: the system was undersized, it was a standard unit rather than a cold-climate one, or the backup heat was configured to take over far too early. All three are installer decisions, not equipment problems.
Capacity at temperature
Typical published performance for a cold-climate ducted inverter system. Exact numbers vary by model — we show you the real submittal data for whatever we quote you.
That is the number your system should be sized against. If a contractor cannot tell you the design temperature they used, they did not do a load calculation.

Swap a dying gas furnace for a heat pump and get air conditioning in the same project.
Dual-Fuel Systems
Heat pump plus your existing furnace, with the changeover point set for Colorado gas and electric rates.
Cost & Pricing
Real Denver numbers, before and after rebates — not a range designed to get you on the phone.
Heat Pump Water Heaters
Hybrid units that cut water heating energy sharply.
Repair & Service
We service what we install and what we did not. All major brands, Denver metro and the Front Range.
Sizing at Altitude
Manual J done properly for 5,280 feet. The single most important thing nobody talks about.

From First Call to Heat
-
Free in-home assessment
We look at your ductwork, your electrical panel, your insulation, and your actual utility bills. Not a five-minute walkthrough.
-
Manual J load calculation
Room by room, at Denver’s design temperature and altitude. This determines the equipment — not the size of what is currently there.
-
Written proposal with real numbers
Equipment model numbers, published performance data, gross price, every rebate itemized, and your net cost. Financing options if you want them.
-
Permits pulled
We are licensed in 25+ Colorado cities and counties. Your install gets permitted and inspected. This matters more than people realize when you sell the house.
-
Installation
Most whole-home ducted changeouts are one to two days. We protect the floors, we clean up, and we do not leave the old equipment in your driveway.
-
Commissioning and handoff
Airflow verified, refrigerant charge verified, controls configured, and we walk you through the thermostat before we leave. Rebate paperwork filed by us.
Brands We Install
We are an authorized dealer for these manufacturers, which means factory warranty coverage and access to real technical support when something is unusual.
Daikin
Bosch
Fujitsu
Cooper & Hunter
Rheem (water heating)
Then a ducted system is the wrong answer and we will tell you so. Our sister site Mini-Splits by Joseph covers ductless — same company, same crews, different equipment.
Questions We Get Constantly
Will my electric bill go through the roof?
Can I keep my gas furnace?
Do I need an electrical panel upgrade?
How long does the install take?
Is my ductwork good enough?
Why should I use you instead of the big companies?
Where We Work
